Punching/Laser Cutting: Formatic 2000 Inc. is again at the “cutting edge” of CNC technology with our purchase of a Trumpf 6000L punch/laser combination CNC machine. Punching speeds of 900 hits per minute combined with a 2000 watt laser allow us to produce your parts with the speed and accuracy you require. Additionally, the Trumpf features dual mode part marking. High speed punch marking at 2800 hits per minute means that we can mark part numbers or any required text on your parts. We can also laser engrave text and cut parts from the same setup. Between the Trumpf and our Strippit 1250 laser/punch combination machine, we have the capacity to move your job through our shop.
We can punch and/or laser cut sheet material up to a maximum sheet size of 60" wide by 120" long. We can punch most common materials up to 0.250" thick. We can laser cut thicknesses as shown below.
- Mild Steel: up to 0.250" thick
- Stainless Steel: up to 0.250" thick
- Aluminum: up to 0.125" thick
- Galvanized Steel: up to 0.125" thick
- Copper: up to 0.060" thick
- Brass: up to 0.60" thick
- Acrylic: up to 0.375" thick

Shear:
We have a Gasparini hydraulic CNC backstop shear that will cut aluminum and mild steel up to a maximum of 0.250" thick, and stainless steel to a maximum of 0.187” thick. The shear can accommodate sheets up to 120" long.
Parts Inspection/Quality Assurance:
Throughout the fabrication process, our staff continuously monitors and inspects parts to ensure that you get what you require. We operate a Virtek LaserQC flat parts scanner that can analyze and inspect a flat punched or lasered part within a tolerance of +/-0.003". Height gauges and digital measurement tools used by our inspection department ensures that your parts are correct to your requirements.
De-burring/Graining:
We have a 24" wide Grindingmaster sander/polisher to perform automatic de-burring and graining of punched or laser cut parts.
Bending:
We have five brake presses on our shop floor with a maximum capacity of 168" in length. With a combination of stock punches and dies, we can produce virtually any nominal bend radius. We also have a 12" and a 48" roller that will accommodate up to 14 gauge (0.075" thick) material.
CNC back gauges allow our skilled operators to produce repeatable, consistent high-tolerance parts.
